St. John Owasso to Offer Cataract Surgery Closer to Home

St. John Owasso is pleased to announce the addition of corrective cataract surgery performed by Marc A. Goldberg, M.D., Owasso Eye Institute

Approximately 21 million American adults have cataracts – a progressive clouding of the lens that can lead to loss of vision. However, a brighter outlook is now available for cataract sufferers in Owasso and surrounding areas. St. John Owasso is pleased to announce the addition of corrective cataract surgery to its available services. Surgical services will be performed by Marc A. Goldberg, M.D., Owasso Eye Institute.

Cataract surgery is the removal of the natural lens of the eye that has developed an opacification. According to Dr. Goldberg, the surgery is a quick and painless procedure, compared to years’ past. Smaller incisions and no stitches make the recovery process much quicker and easier. Additionally, Owasso area patients will benefit from being able to receive the service close to home.
“Our goal in offering cataract surgery in Owasso is to provide the same cataract surgery that patients would expect in a big city,” said Dr. Goldberg. “Most patients will be able to have all pre-operative and post-operative work, as well as their cataract surgery, conveniently performed right here at home, which saves valuable travel time and money.”

A fellowship-trained corneal and advanced cataract surgery specialist, Dr. Goldberg provided advanced cataract surgery services at Tulsa’s St John Medical Center since 1996.. Dr. Goldberg opened the Owasso Eye Institute in 2009. He is joined by Chad Edwards, M.D, Kyle Bennett, M.D. and Scott S Sadeghi, M.D.

The Owasso Eye Institute is located in the St. John Owasso Medical Office Building, 12455 E. 100 St N., Suite 110. Other services provided by Owasso Eye Institute include diabetic exams, glaucoma care, ophthalmic pediatric services and minor ocular infections and trauma.
