Jane Phillips Medical Center to Hold Donate Life Flag Raising Ceremony April 2

Jane Phillips Medical Center and LifeShare Oklahoma will be holding a Donate Life Flag Ceremony on Monday, April 2, at 11 a.m. at the flagpoles outside the main entrance of the hospital. The public is invited to attend.

The ceremony will honor the many organ, eye and tissue donors who have helped save lives at Jane Phillips Medical Center and will feature a testimony of hope from Tracy Tice, donor recipient. Mayor Dale Copeland will raise the Donate Life flag during the ceremony.

A Donate Life Reception will immediately follow the flag ceremony and will be held in the cafeteria until 2 p.m. The come-and-go cupcake reception will feature a donor drive to register organ, eye and tissue donors. The Lions Eye Bank will be available to answer questions about cornea and eye donations.

April is National Donate Life Month and National Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Month. It is a month to celebrate those who have received transplants, to recognize those who continue to wait, to honor donors and donor families, and to thank registered donors for giving hope.
