JPMC August Safety Champion Named
Bartlesville, Okla. (September 8, 2015) -- Jane Phillips Medical Center officials recently recognized another hospital associate for their commitment to patient safety.
ReBecca Schaper, RN, was working a regular shift caring for heart and vascular patients on the 10th floor of the Patient Tower when she noticed a second medication had been ordered for a patient who had received a separate medication just two hours earlier. Schaper proactively investigated the second order, which was eventually delayed until the following morning.
“Rebecca’s work is just another example of how our enhanced culture of safety continues to thrive,” said Vice President of Nursing Susan Shibley. “An integral part of good patient outcomes and increased patient satisfaction is having a work environment in which all feel comfortable in asking questions to ensure accuracy.”
JPMC launched the safety champion recognition program in December of 2014 as a way to honor those who have had the greatest impact on safety and who have further enhanced the hospital’s commitment to quality patient care.
