JPMC Passes FDA Mammography Survey

The mammography program at Jane Phillips Medical Center Day has again received approval from the federal Food and Drug Administration. In a recent day-long FDA survey at both the hospital campus and the Imaging Center along Highway 75, a number of different aspects of the mammo program were reviewed including the accuracy of the technology, all quality control records, image reading stations, and radiology reports.

“Not only does the FDA conduct its own inspection, but it also reviews the inspections we routinely conduct ourselves,” said Diagnostic Imaging Manager Bob Walker. “It is a very thorough process.”

Surveys by the FDA are conducted annually.
