St. John Celebrates New Riverside Clinic Location

Tulsa, Okla., April 10, 2014 -- St. John Health System and representatives from the Tulsa Catholic Diocese, Tulsa Regional Chamber and Tulsa community leaders assembled April 10 to officially bless the newest St. John Clinic location with a ribbon cutting and open house.  The new clinic is located at 1441 East 75th Place South, just off of Riverside Drive.

The St. John Riverside Clinic is an $11.7 million project featuring a 33,400-square foot building with more than 50 examination and procedure rooms, office and meeting space. The Clinic will provide dedicated space for St. John’s Family Medical Care physicians’ group, In His Image medical residency program and the Good Samaritan Health Services outreach program. Together, these programs serve a variety of patient populations, with specific outreach to individuals without health insurance. Between Family Medical Care and In His Image, 40 percent of their patients are uninsured or are on Medicaid. The outreach is furthered with Good Samaritan Health Services, which provides aid through mobile medical care to more than 7,000 patients per year.

  • Family Medical Care: Family Medical Care (FMC) is comprised of 17 family practice physicians and provides care to 21,000 patients per year. From its beginning in 1987, Family Medical Care has taken compassionate medical care to those in need. With a strong emphasis on serving the underserved, FMC reaches out to thousands for whom medical care is difficult and sometimes nearly impossible to obtain.

  • In His Image: The In His Image (IHI) Family Medicine Residency program is working to relieve Oklahoma’s physician shortage crisis. IHI trains family physicians for three years after medical school. Seventeen Family Medical Care physicians and approximately 50 partner physicians in the community guide residents through family medicine practice and specialties, including cardiology, neurology, pediatrics and obstetrics, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. During their residency, IHI residents serve the Tulsa area’s most vulnerable citizens through service in a low-income maternal health clinic, home health and hospice agencies, occupational medical clinics and the Good Samaritan Health Services mobile medical vans. Once graduated, about one quarter of IHI-trained physicians stay in state, presenting Oklahomans with high-quality, compassionate healthcare. Today, 60 IHI graduates practice in Oklahoma, 46 here in the Tulsa area.

  • Good Samaritan Health Services: Using the ministry of healthcare to transform lives in the Tulsa area, Good Samaritan Health Services offers compassionate healthcare to those in need through two mobile medical units (a 35-foot unit and a 60-foot unit with three exam rooms, a pharmacy and lab).
