The St. John Diabetes Center offers outpatient education programs to help patients live healthy lives and integrate diabetes management into their lifestyles.
Registered nurses and dietitians lead our diabetes self-management series. Every series consists of two classes and an appointment with a nurse and dietitian. Participants learn to achieve and maintain appropriate blood sugar levels, monitor blood glucose and prevent complications. Facilitators also discuss coping with chronic conditions and managing stress. Medically certified translators for multiple languages are available for diabetes classes.
Classes are covered by most health insurance providers. Please contact your provider to validate coverage. A physician referral is required. To register for a diabetes self-management series, please call 918-744-2444 or visit the Classes/Events calendar.
The St. John Diabetes Center offers individual appointments with a nurse and dietitian to create meal plans and discuss medication adjustments for individuals with Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes.
