Pain is a part of the recovery process after surgery. At the St. John Center for Joint Replacement, we believe that treating your pain is a vital part of helping you heal and return to an optimum level of health.
Pain can significantly interfere with sleeping, eating, and your ability to concentrate. Patients with pain are less likely to cooperate with needed therapy, which causes them to lose mobility and motion.
Studies show that people who take pain medication at regular intervals control their pain better and take less pain medication overall. Our nurses and surgeons, specially trained in pain management, will work with you to achieve the best possible pain relief after your operation. While we cannot make you pain free, you do have the right to request an acceptable treatment for your pain.
