Commission on Cancer Accreditation
The Commission on Cancer, a quality program of the American College of Surgeons, challenges cancer programs to enhance the care they provide by addressing patient-centered needs and measuring the quality of the care they deliver against national standards. St. John Medical Center has been accredited by the Commission on Cancer since 1949, longer than any other hospital in Oklahoma.
Congrats to MD Anderson
MD Anderson Cancer Center again has ranked No. 1 for cancer care in the U.S. News & World Report's annual "Best Hospitals" survey. Since the survey began in 1990, MD Anderson has been named one of the top two cancer hospitals in the nation, and ranked first 13 of the past 16 years. St. John and Oklahoma Cancer Specialists congratulate our colleagues in Houston on this well-deserved recognition.

DONELLA – OCSRIDonella Coday
When Donella Coday’s husband got a lung cancer screening at the advice of his doctor, she decided to get one as well, even though she did not have any symptoms. The screening showed a mass in her lungs. Thanks to the early detection, Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute was able to start her cancer care before it was too late.
CINDY – OCSRICindy Hess
Cindy Hess wouldn’t let Stage IV lung cancer get in the way of watching her nine grandchildren grow up. Through a friend’s recommendation, Cindy found a home away from home at Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute. Within a year’s time, her cancer was gone. “I just feel like I got so lucky that I ended up there,” she says.
The main campus of Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute is LEED-certified for eco-friendly design and features a wellness center, healing gardens, a mentoring area and bright, open spaces, allowing us to provide our patients contemporary care in an environment that promotes serenity.
