Pre-Term Labor Symptoms

Premature labor SYMPTOMS AND WARNING SIGNS can occur at or before 36 weeks of pregnancy. 

Preterm Labor may be delayed if you know the signs of early labor and report them to your physician. If you notice any of these signs, please call your physician right away or call our Labor & Delivery department and talk to one of our nurses.

Warning Signs and symptoms of Premature Labor May Include

Frequent contractions – four or more in one hour

Increased pelvic pressure

Increased vaginal discharge

Diarrhea

Backache

Menstrual-like cramps

Vaginal bleeding

Gush or trickle of fluid from vagina (rupture of membranes)

You should also notify your physician if you experience high fever or painful urination.
