Target: Stroke Honor Roll
One minute of brain ischemia can kill 2 million nerve cells and 14 billion synapses.
That means the more time that elapses before treatment, the slimmer the odds of a good outcome. St. John Stroke Center is committed to treating stroke as quickly as possible. The St. John Stroke Center is the only facility in northeast Oklahoma to qualify for the Target: Stroke honor roll. Target: Stroke was created by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association to help hospitals meet an intravenous thrombolysis (IVtPA) door-to-needle (DTN) time of 60 minutes or less.
