St. John to Host Cancer Symposium for Health Care Professionals


TULSA, OKLA. (Aug. 28, 2017) — St. John Medical Center will host a free cancer symposium for health care professionals Friday, Sept. 22, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the LaFortune/Robinson Room of the Mary K. Chapman Health Plaza, 1819 E. 19th St. Presented in partnership with Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute, this annual cancer symposium allows for the exchange of expertise and innovation in oncology among health care professionals. The driving force behind this year's forum is the mission to advance the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cervical and breast cancer.

The symposium, titled "Controversies in Prevention, Screening and Treatment of Cervical and Breast Cancer," will feature special guest speakers Banu Arun, MD, professor of breast medical oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center; Michael Frumovitz, MD, MPH, FACOG, professor of gynecologic oncology and reproductive medicine at MD Anderson; and William Dooley, MD, FACS, professor of surgical oncology at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. In addition, several experts from OCSRI and Tulsa Radiology Associates will present and/or participate in the panel discussions.
