St. John, Oklahoma Cancer Specialists Kick Off Relay for Life Campaign
TULSA, OKLA. (May 8, 2017) — St. John Health System and Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute, St. John’s partner in cancer care, sponsor and participate in various Relay for Life events in the communities they serve. In addition, they raise funds for the American Cancer Society through their annual Relay for Life campaign.
Food Truck Tuesdays
As fundraisers for the 2017 campaign, St. John Medical Center will host Food Truck Tuesdays on May 16 and June 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. A variety of local food trucks will line the pathway between the Herman G. Kaiser Medical Building and Mary K. Chapman Health Plaza to serve fresh lunch options, and $1 from every order will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
Vendors at one or both events will include Alpha Grill, Blue Boy's Soul Food, Hot Mess BBQ, Josh's Sno Shack, Mangiamo, MASA, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Pie in the Sky, Pita Place Mediterranean Grill, Purple People Feeder, Steak & Bake, Stella Reauxs, T-Town Gourmet, Taqueria El Jarocho and Taza Fresh Peel. At the June 13 event only, The Traveling Bean food truck will be on site beginning at 7 a.m. to offer coffee, specialty espresso drinks, tea, waffles and oatmeal.
Food Truck Tuesdays are open to the public. Free parking is available throughout campus, but it is recommended to turn east onto 19th Street from Utica Avenue and park in the parkade to the left.
T-shirt and Luminaria Sales
St. John and Oklahoma Cancer Specialists’ 2017 Relay for Life T-shirts will be sold for $20 each in sizes S through 2XL at the Food Truck Tuesday events. Attendees may also purchase luminarias for $5 each to personalize in honor or memory of a loved one affected by cancer. The luminarias will be displayed at the Relay for Life of Tulsa on June 23. Cash, credit/debit cards and checks will be accepted.
The 2017 T-shirt design comes in maroon or orange and has the St. John and Oklahoma Cancer Specialists logos on the back.
