Few other experiences in life are filled with such excitement as the birth of your children.
At St. John Owasso, our LifeStart programs can guide you every step of the way. A variety of services educate families and help to make your experience as comfortable and positive as possible. Our LifeStart team includes obstetricians, nurses, obstetrical technicians, trained educators, nurse assistants, certified lactation consultants and pediatricians.
Each comfortable, spacious labor and delivery room features home-like accommodations – there’s even a comfy sofa for your support person.
After delivery, babies are taken briefly to the newborn nursery for a checkup while mothers recover in comfortable post-partum rooms. All St. John Owasso post-partum rooms are private and spacious enough to accommodate friends and family members. Our post-partum rooms even have an extra bed for your support person, who is invited to stay with you. We welcome you to keep your baby with you during your hospital stay. However, our experienced staff is happy to care for your baby when you need time to rest.
During your in-hospital recovery period, our team answers all your questions. Our certified lactation consultants are available to assist in your breastfeeding efforts, and our experienced nursing staff will make sure you understand how to care for your new baby. Our Breastfeeding Resource Center offers free assistance in breastfeeding after you go home.
Whether you’re thinking about starting a family, or you’re well on your way, LifeStart offers the educational guidance and state-of-the-art care to see you through your entire pregnancy – and ensure the best birth possible.
