March 17, 2010  -- St. John will serve as the premier sponsor for Vestido Rojo, an American Heart and Stroke Association event held March 20.  The event is held in conjunction with the national Go Red for Women movement and helps to raise awareness about heart disease, which is considered the number one health risk among women.  This risk is even greater among Hispanic women.

Attendees at Vestido Rojo will receive tools to start making healthier choices and change behavior. All of the classes and demonstrations emphasized realistic low cost or no cost changes that can be incorporated into everyday life.  St. John will feature a health booth at the event, provide nurses for the health screening interpretations and also coordinate two guest speakers. Elisa Hepner, RN will provide a healthy lifestyles presentation at the 9:30 a.m. breakout session. Dr. Walter Lajara will present the keynote speech at approximately noon during the luncheon.

The event is free and open to the public.
