As the St. John Health System’s newest hospital, St. John Broken Arrow, grows, so does the need for volunteers. Auxiliary volunteer applications are currently being accepted for positions in the emergency department, registration, surgery waiting, patient care areas, and the gift shop.
Volunteers are requested to commit to one four-hour shift per week, either mornings from 8 a.m. to noon, afternoons from noon to 4 p.m. or evenings, 4 to 8 p.m. Benefits include a free meal on day of service and free annual flu vaccinations.
“We are pleased to continue the strong Auxiliary tradition at St. John Broken Arrow,” said the hospital’s chief executive officer David Phillips. "Volunteers play an essential role in continuing the St. John mission of medical excellence and compassionate care, while making a difference in the lives of our patients, their families and the entire St. John staff.”
St. John Auxiliary volunteers include a diverse group of men, women, and junior volunteers ages 15 to 18. Auxiliary volunteers must complete an application form, available at www.sjmc.org (click on Volunteer), as well as a personal interview before entering the program.
