The St. John Stroke Center is dedicated to providing rapid, comprehensive care for stroke patients.
When treating a stroke, every second counts. The faster a proper evaluation is conducted, the greater a patient's chances for recovery and rehabilitation. When a stroke takes place, there is a brief window of opportunity in which doctors can work to save a patients injured brain and to provide life saving medication. It is critical that stroke victims are evaluated and treated quickly. Although more than 700,000 people have strokes every year in the United States, few are prepared for this medical emergency. Our multidisciplinary team will treat every acute stroke patient as a priority.
The St. John Stroke Center is the first comprehensive stroke center in Tulsa, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to provide acute stroke patients the exceptional care they deserve. Our program is nationally recognized, earning the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association's Get With the Guidelines - Stroke Gold Plus Award for three consecutive years. Our program was also named to the 2012 Target: Stroke Honor Roll.
