Pediatric Care

Caring for children takes patience, compassion and expertise.

At St. John Medical Center, our pediatric staff includes registered nurses, nurse assistants, pediatricians, physical therapists and a child life specialist. We offer individualized, personal care for children suffering from a wide array of diseases and injuries, including cystic fibrosis, severe asthma, pneumonia, trauma and more.

The pediatric department at St. John is warm and cheerful, designed specifically to put children and families at ease. Parents can room-in with patients on the pediatric floor or spend time visiting in our fully stocked playroom. Our child life specialist provides fun diversions to bolster kids’ spirits, and educational activities such as pre-surgery hospital tours to ease their anxieties. Pediatric therapy and speech therapy are also available.

Critically ill and injured children receive round-the-clock monitoring and treatment in our newly renovated pediatric intensive care unit. Pediatric intensivists work with specially trained pediatric nurses to guide patients on the road to full recovery.
