Nationally, more than 85,000 people are in need of a kidney transplant, a surgical procedure performed to replace a diseased kidney with a healthy kidney from another person.
Since 1992, St. John Medical Center has provided kidney transplant services through the St. John Kidney Transplant Program.
Our core kidney transplant team includes transplant:

The St. John Kidney Transplant team performs transplants of living and deceased donor kidneys. Kidney transplantation is a treatment option. It is not for everyone. If your doctor recommends it, you will be referred for a medical evaluation at St. John. The St. John kidney transplant team will work with you from the time of your evaluation throughout your post-operative treatment.
In 2010, Dr. Irfan Kundi, the only Mayo Clinic, fellowship-trained, transplant nephrologist in northeast Oklahoma, joined the transplant team as its medical director. Dr. Kundi joined the kidney transplant team with the goal of developing a much-needed living donation organ program for northeast Oklahoma.
