Jane Phillips Medical Center (JPMC) is a leader in dialysis care for patients suffering from temporary, reversible renal failure or end-stage renal disease. Located in the Doctors' Building on State Street across from the emergency center, the Dialysis Center was designed with our patients’ comfort in mind.
The expanded unit has 18 spacious treatment stations — each furnished with a recliner and television. Attractive, modern decor contributes to patient comfort. Technologically advanced dialysis machines and high-flux dialyzers are more efficient, and allow patients to spend less time in dialysis.
Chronic dialysis patients who are medically stable and admitted to JPMC for care unrelated to renal failure may now receive dialysis without leaving the community.Through an agreement with Fresenius Medical Care, a national leader in kidney dialysis, JPMC now provides inpatient dialysis services.
The service is available between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. It is staffed by registered nurses and supervised by the board-certified nephrologists with Nephrology Associates, Inc.
When a chronic dialysis patient is admitted to JPMC, the admitting physician will ask for a nephrology consultation. The nephrologist will then coordinate orders for inpatient dialysis treatment.
