The clinical research department at Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute coordinates and conducts trials to help determine the safety and effectiveness of devices, diagnostic products, medications and treatment regimens intended for patient use. Trials can be short-term or long-term and usually cover a certain stage of the cancer journey, such as prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment or quality of life.
Oklahoma Cancer Specialists is actively involved in national, industry-sponsored trials to provide patients opportunities for early access to these potentially lifesaving treatments. Oklahoma Cancer Specialists also partners with the University of Oklahoma Stephenson Research and Technology Center.
Oklahoma Cancer Specialists is dedicated to making every treatment option available when possible, striving to implement the latest technologies and providing a continuum of care and support with patients' best interests in mind. Participants in clinical trials can play a more active role in their own health care, gain access to new treatments before they are widely available, and help others by contributing to medical research.
